Transition Details
The Grassroots registration platform will be unavailable July 1-3, 2026, as we transition management from The Livestock Conservancy to Legacy Registries. This partnership brings specialized expertise to our pedigree recording and registration processing.
- Platform Continuity: You will continue using the familiar Grassroots system.
- Data Integrity: All existing animal records and member accounts will remain unchanged.
- Deadlines: Registrations submitted before July 1 will be processed under the current system.
Digital-First Approach
To ensure environmental and financial sustainability, we are moving to a secure, fully electronic system. Due to rising shipping costs, the association will only provide printed and mailed certificates by request with additional fees applied. Members are encouraged to use the Grassroots platform to manage transactions and download digital certificates which can be printed on their home printers. These changes ensure faster processing times.
Updated Fee Structure
Operational cost increases (postage, printing, and labor) have necessitated an updated fee schedule for 2026-2027. We have adopted a flexible model that allows members to minimize expenses by self-managing transactions. Choosing registrar-handled physical mailing will now incur additional costs to cover external expenses. Please refer to the official 2026-2027 Fee Schedule for details.
New Payment Processing
We are transitioning our payment processor within Grassroots to Stripe to provide a more secure and seamless experience. This change removes third-party redirects and expands payment options to include Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit cards, and direct bank debits. For members who prefer PayPal, this remains an option via direct invoice through our accounting software, Xero. For assistance with your next payment, please contact the registrar.
