Legacy Registries and the developers of Grassroots managed to make all the changes planned and it is ready for use a full day ahead of schedule. You can access Grassroots now! Please update your bookmarks to the new web address. You may log on using your existing password. If you have difficulty logging in, click the “reset password” link. If that doesn’t work either, send an email to Legacy Registries with your member number included. Unfortunately, membership due dates hadn’t been updated in some time, so we may need your help to correct our records.
NEW! Edit Your Animal Records
You can now edit your own animal records. We’ve all made typos from time to time. Now you don’t have to ask the registrar to change things for you. Simply view your flock list, double-click on the animal you wish to edit, and click the orange “Edit” button found in the bottom right corner. (Note: some changes may not be allowable, especially if your animal already has registered offspring. Changes do not occur in real time. The registrar must approve them. Please do not duplicate requests.)
NEW! Print Your Own Certificates
Lose a certificate? Spill coffee on it? Did you edit the animal record and your old certificate no longer matches? Print a new one at home, whenever you like! Log in to Grassroots and open your Flock List. Scroll all the way to the right, then click the orange “Certificate” button. Your certificate will automatically download to your computer as a pdf file.
Changed Field: USDA Scrapie Tag
This optional field is for those who choose to use an official USDA approved scrapie tag number. Please do not fill the field with your basic flock tag/management tag. Instead, enter your flock/management tag number in the name field. If you provide an actual name as well, you should enter the flock tag/management tag number first, then the actual name (i.e., 2601 Petunia). To simplify birth submissions, add your USDA Flock ID to your Membership information. Do this by clicking the orange “Manage” button, then enter your USDA Flock ID in the “Ministry Tag” field.
New Field: NSIP ID
This optional field is for those who are members of the National Sheep Improvement Program and have enrolled their sheep. Enter the 16-digit NSIP id number for the animal. Please leave blank if this does not apply to you.
New Field: Scrapie Codon
This optional field is for those who have genetically tested their animal(s) for Codon 171 scrapie resistance. Please leave blank if this does not apply to you. Note: Neither SCHSB nor Legacy Registries verify the scrapie resistance codons entered by breeders. If this is an important trait to you, ask the breeder for the official test results.
