Scientists have conducted and continue to conduct extensive research involving St. Croix Hair Sheep. This is a non-exhaustive list of research studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In summary, the research proves that these sheep demonstrate resistance to most internal parasites, breed year round, generally produce twins, tolerate stress, generate immunological responses better than most other breeds, and while they are smaller, they have a greater meat to bone ratio than other breeds.
